His second novel, You’re a Big Boy Now, was filmed by Francis Ford Coppola. He has worked as assistant to Trevor Nunn at the Royal Shakespeare Company, was Commissioning Editor for Drama series at the UK’s Channel 4, and ran The Book At Bedtime for BBC Radio.
